If you’re ready to chat about your writing, let’s get together on a discovery call!
Communications I Work With
Whether you’re the leader of an organization, author, blogger, or bookstagrammer, you’re always creating content and putting it out for the world to see. Errors within the text can reduce your sales/content consumption by 50%.
Let’s ensure you don’t lose readers or sales and provide an enjoyable time for those who read your content.
Website content and landing pages
Social media graphics, captions, and hashtags
Blog posts, tags, and meta descriptions
Newsletters, manuals, memos
Emails and marketing campaigns
Research papers, theses, and fact sheets
Ebooks (novels and novellas), comics, and graphic novels in any genre
I am happy to work with print materials upon request, just let me know that’s what you’ve got!
How We Will Work Together
To get started, we will set up a discovery call.
During the discovery call, we will determine if working together is a good fit.
After deciding to move forward from the discovery call, I will request a sample of text from the work you would like proofread/copyedited. Once I review the sample and see that we will be a good fit, we will move forward with a contract.
Once the contract is signed and payment received, we’ll schedule a kick-off call!
Our work will begin with a kick-off call, where we will:
Determine your goals for the project
Discuss your voice as a writer
Outline how we’ll communicate
Once we’ve started the engagement, I will need:
A Microsoft Word/Pages document of the text you would like proofread or copyedited
A style sheet, if you have one
After edits are made, I will send the document back to you, where you can make revisions, and if desired, I will provide another round of edits afterward.
Proofreading vs. Copyediting
Proofreading
If you want to ensure your business communications, website, blog posts, or novel is formatted consistently and free of minor errors, proofreading is for you! Novels, comics, and graphic novels should have already gone through several self-edits and potentially beta readers. This would be a final check prior to publishing.
Includes:
A thorough check of spelling, punctuation, and grammar
Points out formatting inconsistencies
Fact-checking for basic facts and obvious information
Follow any style guidelines provided by the writer or their publishing company
Creation of a style sheet, if you do not have one
Another read-through after 1 round of revisions
Pricing
$0.015 per word
Copyediting
This would be a review for those finished with their second draft and ready to check for errors, plot holes, and inconsistencies. This will polish your work for publication and prep you for the proofreading stage.
Includes:
All items under proofreading, plus…
Checks for and corrects errors in syntax to improve readability
Checks for continuity errors
Checks for factually incorrect statements
Checks for inconsistency or plot holes within the story
